The workshop will guide you through each stage of creating a successful painting—from planning a strong composition and selecting the right format to understanding perspective, light, and color harmony. You will learn essential gouache techniques, including layering, color mixing, brushwork, and finishing methods, while receiving personalized instruction throughout the day.
Whether you are picking up a brush for the first time or looking to refine your painting skills, you'll leave with greater confidence, practical techniques, and a completed gouache painting of your own. List of Suggested Materials:
Casein gouache paints (cool and warm primary colors, plus white and black)
Brushes (recommended sizes: #2, #4, #10 and #12). I like flat and soft.
Paper towels
Plastic bag
Watercolor paper or board (preferred sizes: between 8”x10” and 12”x16”, please bring a couple)
Practice paper for color studies
Sketchbook (8”x10”)
Pencil
White or grey palette
Portable airtight paint saver storage palette box (16 wells)
Clips or artist’s tape
Water container to wash your brushes
